Mr. LeGrow recently returned from two International Competitions which took place between July 2 & 11, and he placed:

 

3rd Overall in the Continental "Gold Cup" (hosted in Jamaica)

Hyperweight Sparring Category

 

LeGrow with the finalists of the ISKA US Open World Championships - Sparring over 190 lbs

 

2nd Overall in the ISKA US Open World Martial Arts Championships

Continuous Sparring Over 190 lbs (hosted in Orlando, Florida)

 

Mr. LeGrow also represented Canada at the

World Taekwon-Do Championships, which took place

in Mar Del Plata, Argentina from November 26-30, 2009.

 

He was able to place:

3rd Place in Male 18-34 years, 4-6 Degree Patterns

3rd Place in Male 18-34 years, Hyper weight (+80 Kg) Sparring

Mr. LeGrow was born in St. John's, Newfoundland and has lived in Ontario since he was three and a half years old.  He was first introduced to martial arts in a Taekwon-Do summer camp in 1986 with Mr. Hung Ahn-Hoang and movies from by the late great Bruce Lee.

 

The first main school that was home to Mr. LeGrow was "Jung Park's School of Self-Defense", which was located on St. Joseph Blvd in Orleans, Ontario in November of 1987.  It eventually became "Lu's Taekwon-Do School".

He started teaching when he received his 1st Degree Black Belt in 1991 at the age 13.  Since starting in Taekwon-Do, LeGrow has competed and won medals in all levels of competition from being a 4 time Provincial and 4 time National Champion as well as winning medals in International Competitions (Pan-American Games and World Championships). 

 

When receiving his 5th Degree, he retired from competition and persued new goals traveling with Master Choi Jung Hwa (known as the son of the Founder of Taekwon-Do).

 

In these years, LeGrow has traveled with conduct training workshops and seminars in various countries around the world trying to keep the traditional and pure form of Taekwon-Do alive.

 

As of October 2008, Mr. LeGrow decided to come out of retirement and return to the competition arena once again.  He is now setting his goals on the 2009 ITF World Taekwon-Do Championships which will be held in Argentina.

 

This road will be a difficult one to pursue!  As the saying goes, anything that is worth having or fighting for does not come easy!
