- PATTERNS -

 

 

Patterns are various fundamental movements which represent mostly attack and defense techniques set in a fixed or logical sequence against imaginary opponent or opponents.

 

They are however more.  Patterns are the "Platoon Tactics" which will assist the practitioner develop speed, power and coordination.  The skills gained from Patterns are essential in the path to having confidence in Self-Defense.

 

There are 24-Patterns in Taekwon-Do from Chon-Ji to Tong-Il Tul (Yellow Stripe to 6th Degree Black Belt).  All patterns should be practiced and mastered before attempting to move on to the next!
