January 29, 2008 -

During the weekend of January 25 to the 27, 5-students from Blackburn Taekwon-Do attended the Annual Technical Conference in Oakville, Ontario.

 

The weekend started with the ITF-Ontario's AGM (Annual General Meeting) on Friday, September 25, 2008.  In this meeting the calender of events for Ontario was established in regards to tournaments and certain seminars for the upcoming year.

 

Then on Saturday morning at 8:30 AM, people were lined up and taking part in the 4th Annual Technical Conference led and hosted by Mr. Mike Morningstar (Technical Director for the Province of Ontario).  There were three Taekwon-Do Masters in attendance overseeing the training.  Master Laquerre, Technical Director of Canada (VII Degree from Trois Riveres, Quebec), Master Lajeunese, President of ITF-Quebec (VII Degree from Montreal, Quebec) and Master Suarez (VII Degree from New York, New York).

 

The training was 7 hours on Satuday and 3 hours on Sunday.  We covered all 24 patterns in Taekwon-Do and included specific drills to improve and strengthen each movement in the patterns.  All the students were impressed and very sore from the intensity of the warm-up.

January 15, 2008 -

We have changed the format on our site in the "Our School" section.  Please visit the section and see for yourself.  Please note the following two changes to the schedule in the Blackburn Hamlet Location:

 

1) The Tuesdays classes for the Little Dragons and Junior Programs have been moved to Mondays.

2) We have added two competition classes to our schedule.  Friday Nights will be a sparring class and Saturdays will be a patterns class.  These classes are for any students would like to attend either the Eastern Canadian Championships or the Can-American Championships or both events.

January 7, 2008 -

December 16, 2007 -

December 10, 2007 -

 

On Sunday, December 9, 2007, 5-students from Blackburn Taekwon-Do competed in an Inter-School Tournament hosted by Club Taekwon-Do de la Gatineau.  Click here to see their results.

December 6, 2007 -

On December 1, 2007, Blackburn Taekwon-Do Ltd. held its 3rd Annual Blackburn ITF Challenge.  It featured over 100 students from Quebec City, Laval, Trois Rivieres, Gatineau, Ottawa, Oakville and Woodstock.

 

The black belt competition was intense.  It was exciting to see so many world contenters all competing against each other in our friendship tournament.  We are looking forward to our next competition in 2008.  We hope you will all be there!

November 21, 2007 -

Blackburn Taekwon-Do has updated its location.  Classes will soon begin again at Ashbury College and we are proud to once again promote classes at our City of Ottawa, Catherine Street Location as of January 2008!

 

Things are looking good for the 3rd Annual Blackburn ITF Challenge.  We have over 70 competitors pre-registered with many more on the way.  We have 6-male (18 & over) and 4-junior boys (13-17 yrs) teams registered for the competition.  It should be a great day.  For more infomation on the Blackburn ITF Challenge, click here.

 

We are also giving our members a "HEADS UP" about our 2007 Annual Christmas Party.  This year we have a live band coming and it should be an AMAZING NIGHT!  Click here for more information.

October 28, 2007 -

10 Students from Blackburn Taekwon-Do represented our school and our small community of Blackburn Hamlet last Saturday (Oct 27) at the 2007 ITF Goodwill Games in New Haven, CT, USA.  Click here to see their results.

 

Blackburn Taekwon-Do also hosted a successful Halloween Party on Sunday (Oct 28).  Congrats to the winners of the Costume Contest.  Our group of kids really enjoyed playing the Lightsaber fighting game, Dodge Ball and Sardine Tag.  Photos from the event will be posted shortly on our photo gallery.

 

October 25, 2007 -

We have also added an event to the Blackburn ITF Challenge.  It is the 3-Person Team Sparring Events.  Check it out on our Tournament Page.

 

There will also be a Black Belt Training on Sunday, December 2 from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon, in Blackburn Taekwon-Do.  All black belts affiliated with TAO (Taekwon-Do Association of Ontario) are invited to join us as well as any black belts competing in the 3rd Annual Blackburn ITF Challenge.

October 17, 2007 -

We have added a SPECIAL Red Belt & Up Training which is to take place on Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 10 AM to 1 PM.  The cost of the workshop is $10 per person.  Click here to obtain the form.

October 16, 2007 -

We are please to announce that we will be hosting the 3rd Annual Blackburn ITF Challenge on Saturday, December 1, 2007.  The venue for the event will be Ashbury College.  The Tournament will feature competition in Patterns and Sparring for all levels and we have invited ITF schools from Ontario and Quebec.

October 15 to the 19, 2007 -

This week Blackburn Taekwon-Do is hosting our "BRING-A-FRIEND TO CLASS WEEK".  You are welcome to bring in friends and family members to try out our classes.  An new members interested in some FREE TRIAL CLASSES should also attend.

 

The times dedicated to this event are as follows:

Taekwon-Do Program (ages 7 & Up):  MON - FRI from 6:00 - 7:00 PM

Aerobic Kickboxing (ages 13 & Up): TUES & THURS from 8:00 - 9:00 PM

Little Dragons (ages 3 & 4): TUES & THURS from 5:30 to 6:15 PM

Junior Taekwon-Do (ages 5 & 6) TUES & THURS from 6:15 to 7:00 PM
